An absolutely breathtaking landmark and a must-see in Casablanca. The Hassan II Mosque is extraordinary in both scale and detail, from the intricate tilework and carved stone to its dramatic location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The craftsmanship throughout is remarkable and clearly reflects an immense level of care and artistry. The vast prayer hall, towering minaret, and beautifully designed courtyards are awe-inspiring without feeling overwhelming. Everything is impeccably maintained, and there is a strong sense of calm despite the sheer size of the complex. Even if you’re not usually drawn to religious architecture, this mosque leaves a lasting impression and stands out as one of the most memorable sights in the city. Truly one of Casablanca’s highlights.
This beautiful historic mosque boasts superb architecture both inside and out. It’s a must-visit. Muslims are welcome to visit without a ticket during prayer times. We were permitted to enter between Asr and Maghrib for approximately two hours to pray and explore the stunning architecture.
It is a beautiful display of Moroccan architecture and zelij. The intricate tilework is truly mesmerizing. The geometric patterns and vibrant colors evoke a rich cultural heritage. Such craftsmanship demonstrates a deep appreciation for artistry. It is a testament to enduring traditional design.
Sublime experience. Hourly tours available from main ticket kiosk (onsite) from 0900. Check website for seasonal changes to opening and closing times. There is a connected museum next to ticket office so you can have a wonder in there before your tour begins. They separate tour visits by your main chosen spoken language which is useful to meet other travellers from different parts of the world. The overall tour was well delivered and well recommended a visit if you are planning a day trip to Casablanca!
Absolutely breathtaking! If you like Islamic architecture you won't want to leave this place. It almost, but not quite, replaced the Taj Mahal as my favourite building: it's nearly a tie though. I usually try to have as few people as possible (preferably none!) in my photos but the scale of this mosque is hard to appreciate without that human context.
